Our Story

From Piece-Mealed to Holistic

BE Advisors began because we believed that small businesses deserve a full-service, holistic accounting firm behind them. We've been down the path of piece-mealed services earlier in our careers — payroll here, bookkeeping there — and we knew there was a better way. We only work with clients who want our full attention. The idea of 'Advisors' is that we go beyond compliance. We want to be a true partner, in the corner of our business clients and an advocate for their overall profitability. Less clients, more depth.

For more than three decades, Darren has worked in and alongside the accounting profession as a CPA, firm owner, entrepreneur, author, and founder. His work is focused on a simple idea: the best firms are not built through more complexity — they are built through better design. Darren is the author of The Simple Firm, The Intentional Accountant, and co-author of The E-Myth Accountant. He is also the co-founder of Better Everyday, a community for accounting firm leaders who want to simplify operations, strengthen their teams, and lead with intention.

For over 25 years, John Mitchell has been motivating and inspiring corporate and non-profit audiences with a unique blend of creative storytelling and practical, down-to-earth conversation. With experience as a business owner, creative director, lead pastor, keynote speaker, podcaster, and government contractor, John's diverse career has given him the perspective to inspire small business leaders to create irresistible company cultures. He is a seasoned communicator who has been integral in developing content and inspiring company cultures for over two decades. John lives with his wife Risha and children London and Reece in Bloomington, Indiana.

As an Innovation Strategist, TJ has been instrumental in the ideation and launch of Spark — the AI platform purpose-built for the accounting profession. He brings more than a decade of experience executing creative, product development, and operational functions, excelling in fostering cross-functional collaboration and navigating the evolving accounting landscape.

Andy brings over a decade of experience in sales and firm operations, working with accounting firms nationwide. He has developed a deep understanding of the needs of firm owners at every level of a modern business model, helping them advance in strategy, technology, culture, and operations.
